Industry/Product Manager, Fire Protection, AP
 

This job is based in Shanghai or Beijing.

Job Description:
Reporting to the General Manager, Fire Protection - Asia Pacific, the Asia Pacific Industry/Product Manager will manage the existing product portfolio in Fire Protection and Fire Stopping including pricing, promotion, distribution and product positioning.

Job Duties:

  1. Managing the Product Authorization Process (PA) and Engineering Changes Request (ECR) for new products introduction and processes optimization.

  2. Develop technical product performance literature and training programs for sales.

  3. Develop Team 1 Applicator Program to differentiate Grace from competitors.

  4. Provide leadership in field technical support to Sales, which includes design of details, engineering Judgments, fire testing support, job site troubleshooting and standards and codes follow up.

  5. Develop/recommend growth strategies and assist in developing the strategic direction for fire protection and fire stopping businesses in Asia.

  6. Participate in the strategic planning process; lead growth projects using the stage gate new product development process; qualify and quantify the value proposition of opportunities with applicators, contractors or other specification influencers to "pull through" new market demand.

  7. Direct marketing communications to develop and implement internal and external communication vehicles i.e. literatures, trades shows, web sites, advertising etc. He/She will work closely with the R&D Engineer at Beijing Technical Center to develop local new products for profitable growth in China and Japan.

  8. Candidates should have industry experience in Petrochemical, Tunneling and high-rise steel buildings.

Job Requirement:

  1. Education: Civil/Structural Engineering or Materials Science Degree, MBA will be an added advantage.

  2. Specific Skills: Language skill in English and Chinese, both spoken and written are essential. Other language ability like Japanese and Korean will have added advantages.

  3. Ability to influence without direct reports.

  4. Experience: Minimum 5-10 years construction related experience preferably in product management for the passive fire protection and fire stopping businesses.

  5. Hand-on experience in handling mixing and spraying cementations materials will be an added advantage.

  6. Regional experience in Asia is needed.

  7. Candidates with Six Sigma Black/Green Belt training will have an edge over other applicants.

  8. Proven talent for leading a multi-cultural team in a matrix organization.
